Stepping Forward with El Gato Rojo and 5 Cambridge:

A New Entertainment Allegiance!

Step Forward Entertainment has signed a deal to REPRESENT all projects written, acquired and/or produced by El Gato Rojo Productions and 5 Cambridge Entertainment which have combined forces into a strategic alliance creating a powerful Film, Television and Live Entertainment Company that will strive to bring quality well scripted stage and film projects to the stage and screen.


Step Forward Entertainment is a Talent Management Company located in New York and established in 2008. This venture is its initial foray into representing a content and production company specializing in creating, acquiring, developing and producing commercial product, in both the “LIVE” arena (theatrical, concert, etc.) and for the Television and Video markets.  Step Forward's Talent Management division has oversight of developing and managing the careers of its signed clients, the majority of which are actors for TV, Film & Theatre with some Lifestyle and Print Model specialists.  Seminars and coaching has been minimal but will be expanded in late 2015.

The main force of the company is its founder and President, Robert R. Blume, who has been an entertainment producer and talent manager for over 25 years. Mr. Blume is most noted for his continued involvement in the annual Drama Desk Awards (“the Golden Globes of the Theatre”), which he has been an Executive Producer of since 1999. During this period, he produced the Live Event for Television where it was broadcast in various years on PBS, NY1, WLIW21, and Ovation Network. also carried it live as a webcast, and still does, on the Internet.

Current Television projects include co-Executive Producing a TV pilot for kids titled Childish Dream Tales – the Mess-Up Room; serving as Consulting Producer on a new reality TV series in pre-production entitled Fashion In The Fast Lane; and partnering with Lifestyle star Samantha von Sperling in developing Reality TV properties. Mr. Blume’s other Film & TV credits include his stint as an NBC Page while in college, to a part-time position on the production staff of The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. He was the Executive Producer of the 1992 Cannes Film Festival (short film category) entry by Ronald Guttman, Looping; was the Associate Producer of the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon in New York; served as Entertainment Director for the National Fitness Foundation Awards ceremony honoring former President Richard M. Nixon and then IBM Chief Executive, John Akers; and was a Producer of corporate events for Lot Airlines, IBM Int'l Marketing Group, Bonwit Teller among others.

Mr. Blume’s current projects can be seen on this website.  His previous theatrical producing ventures include two NYC productions of Me and Jezebel at the Actors Playhouse and Snapple Theater respectively; a NYC production of Legends In Concert at what is now the Foxwoods Theatre; the Los Angeles productions of Coming Of Age, staged by Tony Tanner and The Head, directed by former Love Boat star Lauren Tewes; the 28-city USA/Canadian Tour of Slask, The National Folk Ballet Of Poland; the Broadway limited engagements of Manny, The Edward G. Robinson Story and Marlowe, the Rock Musical; and the development of the musical Milton & Me  (life of comedian Milton Berle) for Broadway.

Mr. Blume is proud to have been a 20-year Tony® Voter as a member of The Broadway League; is a current Drama Desk® Voter and Board Member of the Duke Ellington Center For The Arts.

El Gato Rojo Productions is Los Angeles based Production Company specializing creating, writing, developing and producing projects for Film and Television. Its Founder and President is Thomas R. Waters, a film student at USC who started out as an actor before becoming a writer and producer.

Tom studied film and theatre technique with Peter Breck (The Big Valley) and David Michaels (Godspell). His acting training included Meisner, Strasberg, and Stanislavsky as well as Peter and David’s practical methods. He also studied Film at USC.

His critically acclaimed role as Danny in Night Must Fall came at the insistence of actor, Jack Palance. It was Jack that also encouraged Tom to write Night Fall, the re-make of the film “Night Must Fall”. Tom has also written (with Kerry Lopez) Rumple’s Story.  

Tom produced theatre for the Hidden Hills Playhouse in Los Angeles as well as producing the critically acclaimed and successful run of Studs Turkel’s Working at the world famous Mayfair Music Hall in Santa Monica. After a 20-year hiatus, Tom re-emerged as an actor in 2011 and has since appeared in more than a dozen films and similar number of TV shows and commercials. In 2012 Tom stepped behind the camera and started El Gato Rojo Productions. Tom is currently producing the TV series’ Paranormal Experience and Five Month Pivot. His film projects as executive producer/producer and writer include Night Fall. Tom’s slate at EGR includes the optioned properties The Last Battle and The Unspoken.

Tom’s Wounded Warrior documentary The Best Thing for the Inside of a Marine is the Outside of a Horse is set for a

late 2014 release.

5 Cambridge Entertainment is an Additional Associate and Asset of this partnership headed by Marya Coburn, who served as the “Connector” in this strategic alliance. She is an Actress and Arts Benefactor/Fund Raiser committed to supporting excellence in the Performing Arts. She is currently Associate Producer of the off-Broadway Show, On Kentucky Avenue, and in the past has supported the Drama Desk Awards©, the Ma-Yi Theater Company and NYC cabaret productions such as Broadway Ballyhoo, 54 Below presents. As a performer, Ms. Coburn studied at the HS of Performing Arts & Juilliard, before beginning her professional entertainment career (As Marya Christen) dancing at the NY World’s Fair in the Hollywood Pavilion. She danced with some of the all time great choreographers including Peter Gennaro, Bob Fosse, Joe Cassini and Bob Herget; and acted in Film and Television with legends, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Yul Brenner, Jon Voight and Jack Lemmon among others.

”FIVE MONTH PIVOT” (Pilot in development)

“Five Month Pivot” is a series that fictionalizes the non-fiction story "Five Month Pivot" by journalist and Minister Chuck Redfern. It chronicles the adventures of a young college grad as he travels across the US by bicycle in the '80's and the biblical as well as life lessons learned along the way. Think of it as a "Born Again" & "Then Came Bronson" but on a bicycle!


“PARANORMAL EXPERIENCE” (in production- 4 episodes shot)

In the vein of Ghost Adventures and The Dead Files, Paranormal Experience takes two renowned Paranormal Investigators, Sandra Dunphy and Ursula Kalin, and sends them into unique locations without giving them any prior knowledge of the locale.

The audience knows the history, and it’s amazing to watch as these Investigators communicate with the spirit world coming up with the same hauntings and spirit personalities revealed ahead of time only to the audience and producers and to unravel who, what and why haunts each location sometimes uncovering layers of paranormal activity in the process. Segments include “Horse Country Hauntings” and “The Ghosts of Broadway”!


“RUMPLE’S STORY” (in development)

Based on true events, Rumple’s Story is about the journey of an impressive Irish bred horse named Beal na Blath, starting with his birth and beginnings in the beautiful Irish countryside through his sale and life in America. Along the way Rumple manages to stir high hopes for his riders, but all too often he not only breaks their hearts but sometimes their bones. It’s a story of how a tenacious horseman continues to help Rumple triumph over continuous physical adversities and how the big hearted horse overcomes the odds and finally finds a job that ends with victory, with letting go, and of true love coming full circle.
